Carpet damage

5/24/2018 (Permalink)

There are many times that it may not be necessary to remove your carpet. Sometimes we will lift your carpet and place drying equipment beneath it. This is what we call "drying in place" or "floating carpet." If at all possible, we will try to save your carpet to save you money on the repair side.

Here are 5 steps to prevent carpet mold.

1. Remove water as quickly as possible.
2. Use fans to begin the drying process.
3. Use a dehumidifier to dry out the room.
4. Once it is dry, clean your carpets.
5. Sanitize your walls and baseboards.

The sooner you start cleaning up after water damage, the sooner you can stop mold from growing under your carpet. Call us today at SERVPRO of Warren County to help with your water damage needs.
